Privacy Policy

Last Updated: July 17, 2026

1. Information We Collect

Sight Unseen is operated by US Auto Reconditioning, LLC ("Sight Unseen," "we," "us," or "our"). When you use the Sight Unseen checker tool, we collect the information you choose to submit, which may include:

  • The listing URL, listing text, or seller messages you paste in;
  • Photos you upload or that we retrieve from a listing URL you provide;
  • The asking price and any comparable market price you enter;
  • Your email address, if you purchase a Personal Investigation ($49 tier);
  • Payment information, which is collected and processed directly by Stripe — we do not receive or store your full card number.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information you submit to:

  • Generate your Automated Scan report, including running reverse image searches on submitted photos;
  • Prepare and deliver a Personal Investigation report if you purchase that tier;
  • Process your payment and prevent fraud;
  • Improve and troubleshoot the Service.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

To operate the Service, we share information with the following third-party providers, each of which processes data under its own privacy policy:

  • Stripe, Inc. — payment processing.
  • Google Cloud (Vision API) — reverse image search on photos you submit.
  • Anthropic — AI-based analysis of listing text and photos.
  • Resend — delivery of investigation-request notification emails.
  • Cloudflare — website hosting, backend infrastructure, and automated retrieval of listing pages you link to.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. Data Retention

We retain submitted listing information and photos for up to one (1) year from the date of submission, after which it is deleted, unless a longer period is required to resolve a dispute, comply with a legal obligation, or enforce our agreements.

5. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect information you submit, including transmitting data over encrypted connections and relying on reputable third-party processors. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Choices and Rights

You may decline to submit certain information, though this may limit our ability to generate a report. Depending on your state or country of residence, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information, including the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information we hold about you. To make such a request, contact us at support@getsightunseen.com.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to, and should not be used by, anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

8. California Privacy Rights

Sight Unseen does not currently meet the California Consumer Privacy Act's (CCPA/CPRA) applicability thresholds — which generally require annual gross revenue over $26,625,000, buying/selling/sharing personal information of 100,000 or more California residents or households annually, or deriving 50% or more of annual revenue from selling or sharing personal information. If our size or practices change such that these thresholds are met, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
